IDEAL2021: Call for Papers

The International Conference on Intelligent Data Engineering and Automated Learning (IDEAL) is an annual international conference dedicated to emerging and challenging topics in intelligent data analytics and associated learning systems and paradigms. Following the recent successful events: IDEAL 2020 in Guimarães (virtual), IDEAL 2019 in Manchester, and IDEAL 2018 in Madrid, IDEAL 2021 will be back in Manchester, in a virtual format given the lasting COVID situations. Its main research themes or topics include, but not limited to:

• Big Data Analytics
• Machine Learning & Deep Learning
• Data Mining
• Information Retrieval and Management
• Bio and Neuro-Informatics
• Bio-Inspired Models
• Agents and Hybrid Intelligent Systems
• Real-world Applications of Intelligent Techniques

You are welcome to suggest a proposal for a Special Session or Workshop on a focused active or emerging topic in the scope of IDEAL - see IDEAL Themes and approved Special Sessions for details.

Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts (in pdf format) written in English by the deadline via the Easychair online submission system (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ideal2021). Papers should be within 9 pages but must not exceed 12 pages, and must comply with the format of Springer LNCS/LNAI Proceedings.

• Special Session/ Workshop Proposals Deadline: 1 July 2021
• Submission Deadline: 15 July (extended to 30 July) 2021
• Notification of Acceptance: 30 August (postponed to 6 September) 2021
• Camera-Ready Files Due: 27 September 2021
• Author Registration: 27 September 2021
• Conference Presentation: 25-27 November 2021

Authors of selected accepted papers from IDEAL 2021 will be invited to submit an extended and improved version for consideration for Special Issue in several journals - more details to follow.

Applied Soft Computing (ASOC) Journal (Elsevier): Authors of best papers will be invited to submit extended versions (at least 30% of new content) of their work to be appreciated for publication in a Fast Track submission process of the Elsevier Applied Soft Computing (ASOC) Journal.

IDEAL 2021 will be awarding Best Papers in several categories, sponsored by Springer and IEEE CIS UK & Ireland Chapter. 

It was the organisers' every intention previously to hold IDEAL 2021 as a traditional physical conference as possible. However, given the COVID pandemic situation, uncertainty and many travel restrictions and difficulties, IDEAL 2021 will be held virtually and accept virtual presentations from authors of the accepted papers. IDEAL 2021 is organised by the University of Manchester, technically co-sponsored by the IEEE CIS UK & Ireland Chapter, and WFSC (World Federation on Soft Computing). Publication partners are Springer. Registration and Venue partners are Magnifisense and  Pendulum Hotel and Manchester Conference Centre.
